Curtain Critics — Design System
A token-driven, mobile-first system for the public, account, and support pages of Curtain Critics — the trusted database and review platform for live stage performance. Internal/admin surfaces get a separate system later.
Design line — One orange, light warm ivory paper, no gold. Light warm ivory paper/ink instead of pure black & white;
orange (#E0552E) is the only brand & action colour; Playfair Display for titles
(Black for Production/Work), Newsreader for copy, Inconsolata for UI chrome. Four score types are never merged.
Every design-system page carries two selectors in the dark top bar, documented as components in Navigation & shell:
- Language EN / DE — the real product locale switcher. It live-swaps bilingual specimens and the example-page preview between English (default) and German.
- Viewport Mobile / Tablet / Desktop — frames the example-page preview so the mobile-first layout can be checked without leaving the page.
